KSG to Provide Cargo Management System for the Halifax Port Authority
December 3, 2004
December, 2004. The Halifax Port Authority (HPA) has selected Klein Systems Group to supply a comprehensive Cargo Management System to track all the cargo that passes through this important Canadian East Coast Port. Klein worked closely with HPA staff and consultants to fine tune the system specifications and final deliverables for the project.
The system will be used to electronically enter manifest detail by individual shipping line for all HPA import and export cargo. The system will calculate associated cargo related fees, in accordance with port tariffs, and produce the appropriate customer invoices. Klein will interface the invoicing module with the HPA third party Financial Accounting system. Klein has already provided HPA with its Harbour Master (Port Operations) module which tracks Port vessel traffic and invoices for vessel related port services. Klein is very excited about the opportunity to supply this additional systems module to HPA and is encouraged by the progressive nature of the Ports organization and the level of effort invested in the specifications for the new system. KSG is confident that the required functionality can be delivered on time and on budget, and that the new system will be a valuable management tool for HPA for many years to come.
